CARSON LOCKLEAR

SHANNON — Carson Locklear, of Shannon, was born Sunday, March 9, 1947, in Robeson County, to the late Alton Locklear and Julie Mae Jackson Locklear, and was born into eternity Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at his home, completing his journey of 71 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Elaine Locklear; eight brothers, Alton B., Western, Winston, Roy, James, Willie, Eugene, and Weldon; and a sister, Louise Catala.

Mr. Locklear enjoyed working helping others and going to church. He was a member of Shannon Assembly of God, where he has served as custodian, trustee, office assistant and on the cemetery committee.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Locklear and husband, James, of Shannon; a son, Terry Lee Locklear and wife, Liz, of Lumberton; three brothers, Cliff Locklear and wife, Carol, of Shannon, Johnson Locklear of Elizabethtown, and Ellis Ray Locklear and wife, Rachel; two sisters, Olla Mae Scott and Dorothy Locklear and husband, Freddie, both of Shannon; four grandchildren, Colton Locklear, Cassidy Locklear, Bryan Grammer, and Adam Grammer; three great-grandchildren; two Godchildren, Brent Tyler, and Brittaney Tyler Strickland; as well as a host of relatives and friends.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Boles Funeral Home in Red Springs. The funeral service will be at noon Saturday at Shannon Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in church cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home in Red Springs.
