SNELLVILLE, Ga. – Charles Earnest Bartley, 60, of Snellville, passed away at his residence on May 29, 2014.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton, the Revs. Gary Deese and Linnie Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was born in Robeson County, N.C. on Jan. 15, 1954, to the late Frank and Almena Oxendine Bartley. He was a self-employed roofer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, I.V. "Boot" Freeman, James Dalton Bartley and Willie Edward Bartley; and two sisters, Linda Branch and Lucy Bartley.
Mr. Bartley is survived by his girlfriend of 30 years, Brenda Wilson of Beaufort, S.C.; his sons, Reco Bartley of Lumberton, Charles Earnest Bartley Lee Jr. of Snellville, Ga., Chad Wilson of Beaufort, S.C., and Charles Craig Bartley of Beaufort, S.C.; his daughters, Tammy Bartley Chavis and Charlene E. Lee, both of Lumberton; his brothers, Kenny Bartley of Moyock, Samuel D. Bartley of Lumberton, and Glenn Ray Bartley of Pensacola, Fla.; his sisters, Arminda Oxendine of Rowland, Louise Jacobs of Charlotte, Brenda Ratliff of Jonesville, Va., Carolyn Bartley of Fayetteville, and Ruthie Jane Bartley; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friends, Helena Bartley and Connie Hunt; and special thanks to Tanya Ramirez and Linda Salazar.
The visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.
