TAMPA, Fla. — Ms. Iris Locklear, 60, of 14032 Lemon Valley Place, Tampa, Fla., was born on Oct. 12, 1953, in Robeson County, N.C., to Mr. John H. Locklear and the late Mrs. Joyce Kerns Locklear. She entered her heavenly home on June 11, 2014, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Fla.
A homegoing service for Ms. Iris Locklear will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith of Calvary Baptist Church, Lumberton, N.C. Interment will follow in the Locklear family cemetery, Lumberton, N.C., the Revs. Chalmers Kerns and George Locklear officiating.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and a brother, Keno Locklear.
She leaves to cherish her memories her four sons, Juan Ramon Carter, Mario Carter, Emilio Zapata and Salustiano Zapata, all of Tampa; her father, John H. Locklear of Lumberton, N.C.; five sisters, Mickey Locklear of Rocky Mount, N.C., Pamela Locklear of Red Springs, N.C., Melody Locklear of Lumberton, N.C., Chassity Locklear of Tampa, and Taylor Locklear of Lumberton, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; her grandfather, Mr. Howard Porter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith of Calvary Baptist Church, Lumberton, N.C.
