LAURINBURG — Luella Locklear Brayboy, 67, of Laurinburg, passed away on Dec. 23, 2013.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Shady Grove Baptist Church, the Revs. Brian Locklear, Earl Deese and Jerry Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Scotland Cemetery.
Luella was born Jan. 12, 1946, daughter of the late Jesse Bullard and Lucrate Locklear. She was the loving wife to the late Johnnie Marvin Brayboy Sr. She worked as a supervisor with Willow Haven retiring after many years of service. She was a member of Trinity Revelation Church in Maxton. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping, watching western movies and visiting her friends at the assisted living homes.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Locklear.
Mrs. Brayboy leaves behind her children her sons, Johnny M. Brayboy Jr., and Jimmie Dean Brayboy, both of Laurel Hill, and Jeffery L. Brayboy and wife Sharon of Laurinburg; a daughter, Sarah Louise Brayboy and fiancé Tony Morgan Sr. of Laurel Hill; her sisters, Wilma Chavis, Mary Scott and Lee Sanderson, all of Maxton; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; and a host of family and friends.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
