Millie Gray Oxendine Hunt

FAIRMONT – Mrs. Millie Gray Oxendine Hunt, 71, of Fairmont, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Jan. 9, 2019, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.

She was born in Robeson County on March 20, 1947, to the late Elbert Oxendine and the late Christine Oxendine Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert Taylor; a daughter, Donna René Hunt; four brothers, Toby Carter, Elbert Oxendine, Jr., Glenn Oxendine, and Daryl Hunt; and two sisters, Karen M. Torrey, and Carolyn Hunt.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 55 years ago, Donnie L. Hunt of Lumberton; her No. 1 and only son, Henry Hunt and wife, Angie, of Lumberton; two daughters, Rosalind H. Strickland and husband, A.C., of Lumberton, and Carol H. Efird and husband, Junior, of Parkton; four sisters, Peggy McArthur and husband, Jerry, of St. Pauls, Linda Graham of Lumberton, Ann McGirt and husband, Terry, of Fairmont, and Jennifer Carter and husband, Donnie, of Pembroke; four grandchildren, Hannah, Rebekah, Beth, and Liz; two great-granddaughters, Kylasia, and Kaylee; special nephews, Kevin Chavis, and Evan Davenport; a special cousin, Janice Oxendine; special friend, Cookie Hunt; her two loving sister-in-laws, Rose Lewis of Lumberton, and Mary Davenport of Fairmont; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc. in Fairmont.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Terry McGirt, Rev. Lacy Lambert, and Rev. Jerel Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairmont.
