PEMBROKE — Polly Brayboy, 90, of 530A Chavis Park, Pembroke, born April 15, 1923, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 28, 2013, at her home surrounded by family and friends.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, the Revs. Jimmy Strickland, Dufrene Cummings, Lamon Locklear, Charles Brewer and Frederick Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Floyd Locklear; her husband, John D. Brayboy, two children, Pearlie Oxendine and Clonnie Brayboy; two grandchildren, Steve Brayboy and Kimberly (Sissy) Pate; a great-grandchild, Patrick Locklear; a great-great-grandchild, Kenali Brayboy; two brothers, Archie Locklear and Floyd Locklear; and two sisters, Bessie Locklear and Lois Locklear.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Mary Brooks (Jeff) and Maxine Locklear (Danny) of Pembroke; four sons, Britton Brayboy (Blondell) of Maxton, Orland Brayboy (Michelle) of Rowland, Joseph Brayboy (Cheryl) and Sanford Brayboy (Pam) of Pembroke; 23 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. today at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
