LUMBERTON — Virginia Davis Coleman, 83, of Lumberton, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 9, 2019, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, N.C.

She was born in Robeson County, N.C., on Sept. 7, 1935, a daughter of the late William James and Pearlin McCormick Davis.

The funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at the Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chip Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery.

Mrs. Coleman was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Ronnie Coleman and wife Teresa of Supply, N.C.; two daughters, Phyllis C. Hammond and husband Gene, of Nichols, S.C., and Angela C. Bennett and husband Kevin, of Lumberton, N.C.; a brother, Earl Davis of Griffton, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Joseph "W.J." Coleman Jr., and her siblings, John Carl Davis, Bobby Davis, Dixie Floyd and Donnie G. Davis.

The family will receive friends from noon to 12:45 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Asbury United Methodist Church, 118 Orange St. Lumberton, N.C., 28358.

Services are entrusted to Boles-Biggs Funeral Home.
