LUMBERTON — Worth Freeman, 76, of Lumberton, passed away on Jan. 25, 2014, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Centerville Baptist Church, the Rev. Ed Wilcox and Mr. Charles Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Lamb family cemetery in Fairmont.
He was born in Robeson County on Dec. 7, 1937, to the late James Bruce Freeman and the late Quessie Lamb Freeman. He previously worked for the Scottish Packing Company. He also retired from the National Guard after 33 years of service.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Worth Freeman; his brothers, Joe Freeman and Wayne Freeman; and a sister, Marlene Atkinson.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his son, Stuart Freeman of Lumberton; a daughter, Laura Freeman Sealy and husband Robert of Fairmont; a sister, Katrina Townsend and husband Hal of Florence, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Charles Atkinson of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters-in law, Carol Freeman and Myrtle Freeman, both of Fairmont; and two grandchildren, Tori and Rachel Sealy.
The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Centerville Baptist Church before the service.
