LAURINBURG — Mr. Bobby Allen Cooper, 70, of Laurinburg, passed away on April 23, 2014.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Little Mission Holiness Church, the Rev. Ellis Cooper officiating. Burial following in the Smithtown Church of God Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper was born March 29, 1944, in Hoke County, son of Anna Mae Lowery Cooper and the late Sparks Cooper. He was a textile worker, retiring after many years of service from J.P. Stevens. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golfing and fishing. Bobby also enjoyed hunting, softball, and drag racing. He especially enjoyed his time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Frances Chavis.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Rudine Bryant Cooper; his mother, Anna Mae Cooper of Maxton; his sons, Robert Cooper (Coppelia) of Maxton, and Brian Cooper (Pamela) of Laurel Hill; a daughter, Brandy Locklear of Maxton; his brothers, Harvey Cooper of Prospect, Durant Cooper and William Cooper, both of Maxton, and Jeffery Cooper of Wagram; his sisters, Valerie Chavis, Linda F. Chavis, Diane Bullard, and Dafine Carol Tally, all of Maxton; his grandchildren, Kayla Cooper Lowery, Ashley Cooper Clark, Bryce Cooper, Jaiden Locklear, Nila Locklear; four great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
