Albrea "Jackie" Hunt

CLINTON – The Rev. Albrea "Jackie" Hunt, 67, of 280 Hunt Lane, passed away May 13, 2014, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Holly Grove Holiness Church, 1519 Indian Town Road in Clinton, the Revs. Dr. Randy Simmons and Jerry Groves officiating. Interment will follow the service.

The Rev. Hunt, born in Robeson County, was the son of the late Luther Stacy Hunt and Mary Jane Locklear Hunt and was the husband of Daris Darlene Bullard Hunt. He retired from Lundy's Packing Company and was a member of Holly Grove Holiness Church. He owned and operated CKD BBQ and participated in the B-B-Q Cook Off, where he was a former first place winner and had numerous third place finishes.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jan Hunt.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Daris Darlene Bullard Hunt of the home; three children, Carol Jean Hunt-Cummings (John Earl Cummings Jr.) of Pembroke, Dexter Lynn Hunt (Luchrisha "Cricket") of Clinton and Kimberly Denise Hunt of Pembroke; six grandchildren, Brandon Hakeem Hunt, Noah Wayne Locklear, Caroline Grace Cummings, Camree Alexis Cummings, Niyah Layne Locklear, and Christian Dexter Hunt; four brothers, Doug Hunt, Carles Hunt, Glen Hunt and Weldon "Tony" Hunt; and a sister, Annie "Kitten" Hunt Wright.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Holly Grove Holiness Church in Clinton, and at other times at the home.
