Luther Carl "L.C." Tyson

CLINTON — Mr. Luther Carl "L.C." Tyson, 77, of 603 Nicholson St., died in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh on May 14, 2014.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, the Rev. Charles Allard officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born in 1936 in Robeson County, Mr. Tyson was the son of the late James Russell and Alice Pegram Tyson. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a division manager with Coble Dairy Company.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Tyson; two sons, Anthony Carl Tyson of Victoria, Texas, and Luther Bryan Tyson and wife Debbie of Clinton; two sisters, Margaret Williams of Fayetteville, and Millicent Tyson Nealy of Lumberton; a brother, Sam Tyson of Manning, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Joshua Tyson, Justin Tyson, Brandon Tyson and Zachary Tyson

He was preceded in death by five brothers, James Tyson, Harold Tyson, Thomas Tyson, Richard Tyson and Bill Tyson.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. before the service in the church sanctuary, and at other times at his home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 408 College St., Clinton, N.C., 28328.
