Annie Chavis Locklear

SHANNON — Mrs. Annie Chavis Locklear, 79, of 105 Vintage Drive, departed this life on June 2, 2014, at the Southeastern Hospice House of Lumberton.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton, the Rev. Odell Wilkins and Reese Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the New Point Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Locklear was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Dillon County, S.C., and was a daughter of the late John and Dora Mae Locklear Chavis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Early Locklear; her sons, Tony Locklear, Gary Wayne Locklear and Charles Douglas Locklear; a brother, Robert Chavis; and three sisters, Mae Hare, Patricia Clemend and Delphine Heaton.

She is survived by two sons, James Ledger and wife Donna Locklear and Michael Locklear of the home; a daughter, Gail Chavis Caldwell of Hudson; a daughter-in-law, wife of Charles, Becky Locklear; two brothers, Allen Chavis of Longs, S.C., and Ronnie Chavis of Sebring, Fla.; five sisters, Carolyn Chavis Bolton of Little Rock, S.C., Debra Chavis Bonnie Chavis of Dillon S.C., Hazel Korzep and Shirley Murray of Sebring, Fla.; four grandchildren, Charles Locklear Jr., Thomas Locklear of Lumberton, Cirrea Locklear and Tina Locklear, both of Baltimore, Md.; her great-grandchildren; a host of friends and nieces and nephews; her special nieces, Karen, Jill and Jamie Lamb and special nephew, Horace Mitchell Lamb II; a close friend and neighbor, Linda Morgan; and the Clark family.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
