Carl Dean Locklear
PEMBROKE — Carl Dean Locklear, 49, of 485 Joseph Drive, departed this life on June 9, 2014, at home.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Powerpoint Church, the Revs. Tim Bell and Kitty Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Locklear was born in Robeson County on Feb. 27, 1965, a son of Grady Locklear and the late Joyce R. Oxendine.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce R. Oxendine and maternal grandmother, Della R. Brewer.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Mary Lisa Locklear; a daughter, Briana Jade; a son, Kyton Bray, both of the home; two sisters, Virginia Carol Hunt (Drake) and Tiffany Locklear; four brothers, Ricky Ransom, Rex Allen Lowry (Faye), Gerald Lowry (Lucy) and Jonathan Grady Locklear; his mother-in-law, Catherine Jacobs; and brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Jane, Linda (Don), Pete, Ray (Nancy), Leon and Ted.
He was loved and cherished by both his family and friends. He was a brother to all his cousins and they all will miss him dearly. His smile and laughter was contagious. He could light up a room.
Carl Dean was an avid carpenter and his work was admired by many. He was the owner and operator of Locklear and Lowry Construction. Carl Dean loved cooking for family and friends, enjoying his company in the barn.
Today Carl Dean is rejoicing in Heaven with his mama, Joyce, whom he loved wholeheartedly.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
