J.C. Freeman

RED SPRINGS — J.C. Freeman, 93, died July 21, 2014, at Red Springs Assistant Living.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Deep Branch Baptist Church, the Revs. Charles Locklear and Chris Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

He was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Robeson County and was a member of Deep Branch Baptist Church.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Rosa Freeman; his daughter, Elaine Boyce; his parents, William and Lona Freeman; six sisters; and two brothers.

Surviving are three daughters, Frances (Earl) Jacobs of Pembroke, Linda (Paul) Schumann of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Sandra (James) Pemelia of Maryland; two sons, J.C (Gail) Freeman Jr. and Bill (Nancy) Freeman, both of Maryland; 12 grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-stepgrandchild; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the Amedisys Hospice for its wonderful care and a special friend Faye Trester.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Revels Funeral Home Pembroke, and other times at the home of Earl and Frances Jacobs. Online condolence may be made at
