FAIRMONT — Mr. William Furmage "Pete" Hunt, 68, of Iona Church Road, Fairmont, passed away Aug. 18, 2014, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Dogwood Baptist Church, the Revs. James Hunt and Gary Deese officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dallie Hunt and Sallie Locklear Hunt; and two brothers, James Albert Hunt and James Donald Hunt.

Pete leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Wanda Hunt, and children, James Steven Lambert of Fairmont, Katie Chanda Hunt of Pembroke, Jacqueline Hunt of Lumberton, and Tammy Lambert of Maxton; two sisters, Nora Dean Hunt (Don) of Fairmont and Ima Jean Oxendine of Rowland; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; as well as four special nieces, Sally Denise Oxendine, Adrienne Barnes, Carla Hunt, and Tonya Hunt; a special sister-in-law Kathy Hunt; a very special friend, James "Pa" Pighet; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.
