PEMBROKE — Annie Bell Jones, 88, of 652 Red Banks Road, Pembroke was born July 26, 1925, in Robeson County to the late Mr. Park Bullard and Mrs. Martha Bullard. She went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 16, 2013, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Thompson's Funeral Home, the Revs. Donald Bullard and Gary P. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Sandcutt Cemetery.
Jones was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilbert Bullard and Princelle Bullard; three children, Samuel Jones, Joyce Howard and Annette Jones; and a grandson, Glenford Jones.
Ms. Jones was a devoted and caring mother to all her children; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those that knew her knew that she was a "hard worker". Her children would always say she was, "Our Mother and our Father".
Jones leaves to cherish her memories seven daughters, Barbara Beachum (Buddy) of Marston, Betty Oxendine (Red) of Rowland, Linda Lowry (Sherwood) and Bonita Lowry (Jonathan), both of Pembroke, Janice Hunt ( late husband, Larry) of Maxton, Teresa Hunt (Roger) of Lumberton, and Marie Strickland of the home; five sons, Larry Jones (Helen) of Charlotte, Donald Jones of Pembroke, Melvin Jones (Lisa) and Ron Jones (Tracy), both of Lumberton, and Jeffrey Jones of the home; 41 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; two special care givers, (Health Keepers) Sharon Sampson and Carol Brooks; and her beloved dog, Dakota.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thompson's Funeral Home.
