SALISBURY — James Thomas Oxendine, 47, of Salisbury, passed away Aug. 28, 2013, at his residence.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Locklear and Son in Pembroke. Burial will follow immediately in the Sandcut Cemetery.
Born Nov. 16, 1965, in Abington, Pa., he was the son of Dr. Joseph Oxendine and Adrienne M. Oxendine.
Oxendine was educated in Abington, Pa.; received his bachelor's degree from Temple University and his law degree from Syracuse University. He practiced law in Salisbury for over 20 years. Mr. Oxendine was an avid scuba diver and cave diver, diving off the coast of North Carolina, Fla., Mexico and the Great Barrier Reef.
Those left to cherish his memory along with his parents are his sister, Jean Marie (John) Plaschke of Urbana, Md.; his nieces, Nadia and Sophia Plaschke; a grandmother, Elvira McNaughton of Pinehurst; along with multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The visitation was held on August 30, 2013, at Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury, NC.
