Sadie Rowland

GOLD HILL — Sadie Willoughby Lamb Rowland, 76, of Gold Hill, passed away on Oct. 13, 2013, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Gold Hill, the Rev. Toney Parsons and Pastor Avery Varnadore of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Welcome officiating. Burial will follow in Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.

Sadie was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Lumberton, N.C., and was daughter of the late Henry Boyd Willoughby Sr. and Helen Britt Willoughby.

Sadie was educated in the Lumberton Schools and Lumberton Senior High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gold Hill and worked for Wiscassett Mills for 20 years before retiring. Sadie enjoyed her family, her grandchildren and her dog, "Timmy," who was her friend and faithful companion.

Sadie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Billy Lamb Sr.; her second husband, Bobby Rowland; and a son, Robert B. Lamb Jr.

Survivors are her sons, Henry C. Lamb and wife Susie of Rockwell, Jeffrey R. Lamb of Salisbury, Billy R. Lamb of Rockwell; her daughters, Jehane L. Pope of Albemarle, Gussie L. Dennis of Rockwell, Judy L. Moore of Salisbury; her stepdaughters, Cindy Wright and husband Mike of Kings Mountain, and Barbara Gemme and husband Mark of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Roberta Hill, Patty Pope, Billy Jacobs, Mark Lamb, Jenna Lamb, Daniel Pope, Kristy Lamb, Bryson Lamb and wife Melissa, Hanna Schenk and husband Eric, Ronnie Campbell and wife Tara, Mark Thomas Gemme Jr., Michael Gemme, Richard Wright III and Cheyenne Rowland; her great-grandchildren, Kristen Lamb, Ashton Lamb, Maddison Schenk, Shawn Hill, Hunter Campbell, Tyler Campbell, William Jacobs III and Alyssa Jacobs; and her great-great-grandchild, Kenleigh Jacobs.

The visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell.
