Numer Locklear Obituary
The Rev. Numer E. Locklear
LUMBERTON — The Rev. Numer Eugene Locklear, 63, of Allenton Road, died Dec. 30, 2014, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The Rev. Locklear was born in Robeson County on Jan. 25, 1951.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Locklear, and a brother, Rev. Ronald Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at East Lumberton Church of God, the Revs. Jimmy Jones, Larry Hunt and Bruce Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Locklear of the home; a daughter, Kayla Peele and husband Christopher; a granddaughter, Gracelynn Peele; his mother, Eunice M. Locklear of Fayetteville; a brother, Derwood Locklear of Vanceboro; and four sisters, Lafon Ditzler of Texas, Kay Emanuel, Susan Locklear and Jawanna Hammonds, all of Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at East Lumberton Church of God, 100 Dresden Ave., Lumberton.

Mr. Numer was a great Principal. I had the privilege to work with him at Red Springs High. As a new teacher, he provided me with words of wisdom and encouragement that has always been with. Because of his kindness, I love teaching. I have and will continue to spread the values he showered me with as I continue TEACHING. I am sading to see that a child hood friend has gone home to be with the Lord. We were always good friends.
