Elwood Locklear
PEMBROKE — Mr. Elwood Locklear, 80, of East Wardell Drive, was born Aug. 2, 1934, and died Jan. 2, 2015, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jean Locklear; his daughter, Ms. Robin Renee Chavis; and a granddaughter, Ms. Heather Renee Chavis.
Mr. Locklear retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years service as a Tech SGT.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Berea Baptist Church, the Rev. Chris Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Church Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Mr. Daryl Locklear of Pembroke; four daughters, Ms. Kathy Locklear-Oxendine, Ms. Chanda Locklear, both of the home, Ms. Michelle Locklear of Lumberton and Ms. Thomasania Craft of Pembroke; an adopted son, Mr. LaMorris Smith of the home; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
