Odell "Buck" Locklear
MAXTON — Odell "Buck" Locklear, 67, of Maxton, passed away on Dec. 18, 2015, after a sudden illness.
Buck was born Nov. 10, 1948, in Robeson County, a son of the late Noah and Mary Strickland Locklear. He was a hard working man, having spent his life farming. He was an avid duck hunter. Buck also enjoyed raising chickens and hunting dogs. Most of all, he loved visiting and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby Locklear, Judy Locklear, Virginia Clark, Cletus Scott, and Brenda Locklear.
Buck leaves behind his sons, Jamie Locklear of Gibson and Lloyd Locklear of Pembroke; his daughters, Linda Strickland and Nicole Bullard of Maxton; former wife, Mary Locklear of Maxton; his brothers, James "Buddy" Locklear and Dovenel Locklear of Maxton; his sisters, Geneva Locklear of Maxton, Edith Locklear of Laurinburg, Jeanette Locklear of Gibson, and Louise Locklear of Georgia; his grandchildren, Candace Strickland, Rodney Strickland, Brittany Locklear, Nichloas Bullard, Amanda Shackleford, Matthew Locklear, Angel Bullard, Taylor Bullard, Avery Locklear, Nora Locklear, and Logan Locklear; his great-grandchildren, Kaiden Bullard, Zachary Shackleford, Jayla Locklear, Jesse Locklear, Harmony Locklear, and Bentley Locklear; and his stepgrandchildren, Saquoya Hunt and Niyale Hunt.
The funeral were held on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at Faith Community Baptist Church with burial following in White Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
