SWANSBORO - Aster Rubin Griffin, 66, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He was born April 17, 1946 in Nash County to the late John Ervin and Nellie Shearin Griffin. Aster proudly served in Vietnam. He never met a stranger. He loved everyone and his dog Buddy. After retiring from Abbott's Lab he and his wife Nancy operated a Produce Farm together. He was a member of The VFW in Swansboro. In addition to his parents he preceded in death by his son, Aster "Ray" Griffin, Jr., a brother, Gilbert Griffin.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 41 years, Nancy Harper Griffin, brother, Joey Kim Griffin and wife Sherry, four sisters, Janice and Judy Winstead, Becky Joyner (Eddie) and Joan Wood( Johnny), sister-in-law, Geraldine Griffin , two grandchildren, John Ray and Christopher Rubin.
Funeral Service will be Friday, March 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Visitation to following the service and after visitation at the home of Janice Winstead @ HWY 64 ALT West
