James William Hodges

James William Hodges, age 71, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2014. Born in Northampton County on March 30, 1943, he was the son of the Roland H. Hodges and Elizabeth Griffen Hodges.
Jimmy served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Lance, Inc. and later retired from United Insurance. A fun loving guy, James had the ability to make others laugh. His quick wit and contagious smile was always met by others. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jimmy was a member of the Scotland Neck Rescue Squad for 15 years. He was also honored to be a past Shriner and Mason of the Scotland Neck lodge.
He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Linda Mitchell Hodges; sons, John Hodges and wife Trina of Roanoke Rapids, Arthur "Griff" Hodges and wife Angela of Wendell; stepsons, Bill Fuller of Morrisville, Joe Fuller and wife Brooke of Holly Springs, Kenneth Fuller and wife Karen of Raleigh; grandson, Joshua Hodges; four step grandchildren; brother, Roland Hodges Jr. and wife Margie of Apex; and a host of friends.
A funeral service to remember James will be held at 2:00pm Friday, July 25, 2014 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Dwayne Alston, Rev. Rick Moser, and Rev. Steve Leroux officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 2:00pm Saturday afternoon at Calvary Methodist Church Cemetery in Littleton, NC with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating.
