George Daughtridge Obituary
George was a self-employed business man. Throughout his life, he was a brick mason, carpenter, contractor, and commercial fisherman. Although he helped build many fine houses and business around Rocky Mount, his greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Christine, wife of 64 years. His children, Allan, Bruce (Marina) Daughtridge, Doris Wadsworth, June (Ronnie) Lee; grandchildren, Kevin, Keith (Heidi) Coley, Eve (Ryan) Nemitz, Tim (Maranda) Horst, Amanda (Josh) Cruz, Jason (Terri), Shawn, Michael, Celena, Emma, Josie Daughtridge, Chris Cockrell, Karena (Benex)Velasco; great-grandchildren, Emily, Owen, Alexa, Ian Nemitz, Amber, Zane, Gavin, Jacob Coley, Tabitha, Zachary Johnson, Haleigh Adams, Teagan Horst, Landon Cruz, Xzander Daughtridge; special nieces and nephews, Joyce Surbaugh, Debbie Daniels, Betsy Sheriff, Buck, Jerry Sessoms. Surviving siblings are Marie Sawyer, Lorine (Charles) Crompton, Johnny (Mattie) Daughtridge, Ann Parker, and many loving family members and friends.
Memorial services honoring his life will be held Friday, February 3, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, English Road Location, Pastor Joe Price, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
A graveside service will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM in the Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
