NASHVILLE - Bertha Lindsey Pridgen, 100, went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 15, 2014. Bertha was born September 1, 1913 in Nash County to the late Nick and Della Gordon Lindsey. Bertha was a hard working lady who dearly loved the Lord. She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church of Rocky Mount for over 40 years. Bertha enjoyed quilting and crafts and was a wonderful cook. She also loved gardening and her favorite was Petunias. Bertha loved all of her family and she will be dearly missed. Along with her parents, Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, William "Willie" Vernon Pridgen, several brothers and sisters, her son, William Hardy Pridgen, and grandson, Scottie Ricks.

Bertha leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Noah Lee Pridgen and wife Fannie and Allen "Bud" Pridgen and wife Cindy; three daughters, Mary Pridgen Smith and husband Luther, Myrtlean P. Ricks and husband James, and Joyce Pridgen Sherrod and husband Roland; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great- great- grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Cornerstone Funeral Home Sunday evening, August 17, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A celebration of Bertha's life will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Glenn Hill and Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice of Nash General Hospital, especially to Rudy Collie and Betty Vick.
