Kevin was the adoring father of Katharine Hayes O'Donovan and loving husband and trusted friend to Dana Burgess O'Donovan. Kevin was a cherished son of Kevin and Paula O'Donovan, and a loyal brother to Neil O'Donovan and his wife Kristin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Conor and Peggy O'Donovan of Dublin, Ireland and Patrick and Catherine Davis of Shankhill, Ireland. Kevin is also survived by his niece Molly and nephew Declan, in-laws Ted and Charlotte Burgess and extended family across North Carolina, Ireland and Great Britain.
Despite being a private person, Kevin touched the lives of everyone he encountered. Kevin valued authenticity in all things and he never failed to see the good in others, even when they couldn't see it themselves. Flaunting his beach sensibilities in the face of conventional fashion, you could often find Kevin in shorts and flip-flops in January.
Kevin was a proud alumnus of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and brother of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
He will be celebrated by his loved ones on Saturday August 9th at Landfall Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, the O'Donovan family requests that donations be made in Kevin's name to DREAMS of Wilmington, NC. www.dreamswilmington.org.
