Stanley (Stan) Bennette Winstead passed away at Vidant Medical Center on June 27th, 2013 at the age of 38.

Stan is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Estelle Winstead and maternal grandparents, Jake and Sue Felton.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Amy, of 14 years.
Stan is lovingly remembered by his children, Peyton (11) and Matthew (9), and Justin Vaughn. Parents Fred and Glenda Winstead (Nashville), Brothers: Greg Winstead, Jeff (Liz) Winstead, and Chris (Kim) Winstead; Paternal uncles: Richard Winstead and family (Rocky Mount), Troy Winstead and family (Nashville), and Ms. Harold Tuttle (Rock Hill, SC).
Stan was born in Rocky Mount in 1974. He graduated from Northern Nash High school in 1992 and went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Nash Community College in 1997. He then continued his education and earned a Master's Degree in Nursing Leadership in May of 2013 from East Carolina University. He worked as Operations Supervisor at WakeMed Mobile.
Stan enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball, UNC basketball, fishing, entertaining friends, grilling, beach trips, and most of all time with his family and beloved dog Maddie.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nash County EMS, Carolina Donor Services, Nash Ob-Gyn Associates, Nash Health Care Systems, Vidant Medical Center, Nash County Sheriff's Office, and Wake Med Mobile Services for the loving care and compassion shown in family's time of need. The family wants to acknowledge a special thank you to Dr. Blake and Marisa Dempsey of Rock Creek Baptist Church, Nashville and Colt and Shannon Robbins for their endless comfort, love, and support to the family.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday July 1st, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Johnson's Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount.
The service of remembrance will be held at Johnson's Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount on July 2nd, 2013 at 2:00pm. Dr. Blake Dempsey of Rock Creek Baptist Church, Nashville, will be officiating the service. Special music by David McCray of Rock Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors all other times at the home.
