Thomas Gerard Wieser
11/12/1963 - 5/13/2013
Thomas (Tom) Gerard Wieser, Sr., 49 passed away comfortably in his Roseville home on May 13, 2013 after a 9-year battle with cancer. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Ray and Maureen Wieser of Novato, California, Tom is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Heidi, his amazing children; Emily, Tommy Jr., Allie and Timmy, their dog Summer, and his siblings; Ray Jr., Patty Hogan, Greg and Matt.
A 1981 graduate of Marin Catholic High School, Tom received a BS in Biology from the University of Arizona in 1986, the same year he was the student manager of the College World Series winning Arizona Wildcat baseball team.
For the past decade, Tom was employed by Ventana Medical Systems, a subsidiary of Roche, which manufactures cancer diagnostic equipment. Having been diagnosed shortly after joining the company, Tom, a very gifted speaker and writer, was able to share his inspiring battle with oncologists and technicians around the world. With his wife, Tom started the "Me-One Foundation" a non-profit dedicated to providing an annual retreat for cancer patients and their families.
Above all, Tom will be remembered as a great husband and father. Passionate about sports, especially baseball, he coached each of his children in life and in sport. He will be deeply missed by family, the countless friends he made so easily, and those that he inspired and helped.
The following will be held at St. Clare's church in Roseville: Rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013. A Celebration Mass of Tom's life will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 with a reception immediately following at the Sierra View Country Club, 105 Alta Vista Ave., Roseville, CA 95678, (916) 783-4600. Family requests that attendees not wear black/formal attire, but dress in celebration of Tom. He will be placed in eternal rest at Roseville Public Cemetery at a location that will allow him to continually hear laughter and the crack of the bat from the baseball games he so loved. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to: www.gofundme.com/CureTomWieser, a fund that will assist in college education for Tom's children.

To Wieser Family - I want you all to remember the I LOVE EACH and EVERYONE of you. Tom fought a long and hard battle wanting to make sure he saw his children grow up. And he did, even though two are still in high school. He and your mother raised you to be independent with love of family and faith in God. Remember - I am always there to help. All my love, Colleen McCarthy

I played baseball with Tom in the Hamilton-Loma Verde Little League in 1979. I remember him fondly as a wonderful teammate, friend, and gifted baseball player, and I was very saddened to learn of his passing. Reading his obituary it is clear that he lived life well and fully, and touched many people's lives in a wonderfully positive way during his 49 years. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.

Tom and family, you have been an inspiration to us over the years. To watch you support and play with each other, your extended family, and your friends has been a gift! We will never forget Tom's dedication to others around him, his voice bellowing from the dugout with his book and pencil in hand, his rubbing the bats to get them hot, and his playing some great music to get the team ready--as our son said, he made it fun! Thank you Tom (and family) for making life fun and inspiring for everyone around you, even with your struggles and tears. I know God has already told Tom, "well done good and faithful servant!"

Though miles have separated us, your family has always been in my heart. I will cherish the "TOMMY" I knew when he was a child and the man I learned of through his selflessness and dedication to his family and others. Although I make no claims of deserving this I am proud to say I am his cousin, I can speak for all his family in the Chicago-land areas that he will forever be in our hearts. Ipray for those he left behind and find Joy that some day all will be together in Heaven. Know that he was loved as all the Wiesers are. I pray that God gives you all the strength you need to get through these times and rejoice that "Tommy" (that's how we called him here) =is watching over all of you. God Bless, with much love to all, Angie
