Nathan Rolfe Tyra
12/8/1970 - 8/29/2013
Nathan Tyra, 42, beloved son of Gerald and Jean Tyra, died unexpectedly of sudden illness on August 29, 2013.
He was born on December 28, 1970 in Santa Rosa, California. Nathan loved the great outdoors and was quite the athlete. He climbed every tree on the property where he grew up in Grass Valley, and barely survived his climb to the top of a power pole. He also swam like a fish in the nearby rivers and ran like the wind, especially when chased by his brother. Nathan enjoyed camping, skiing and riding quad runners with his brother and sister; the faster the better.
Being autistic, Nathan struggled to make sense out of his life; trying to find his way in the "normal world". He was happiest spending time with family and will live on in our hearts.
He leaves behind his parents, Gerald and Jean Tyra; brother, Jason (Rhonda) Tyra; sister, Jessica West; nieces, Heather, Brittany, Heidi, Maddy and Nicky Tyra and great niece, Hayden Tyra.
If desired, a donation in his name can be made to the UC Davis MIND Institute.
Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Angels in Grass Valley.

Words cannot express how one feels in the loss of a dear family member, especially one so young. May God provide your family with the strength and comfort needed during your time of loss.

I am sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to your family. Find solace in the fact that our Heavenly Father knows what you are going through. He is “greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.” (1 John 3:20) Continue to rely on Him for strength during this difficult time.
