Castillo, Victor R.
Victor R. Castillo 12/23/1933 - 04/21/2015 Victor R. Castillo, a life-long resident of Roseville, Calif., was born on December 23, 1933 and passed away 81 years later in Roseville, Calif. surrounded by loving family on April 21, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sandy, sister Mary Louise Adell (Franklin), children Mark Castillo (Casey), daughter, Tana Emery (Jud), grandsons Trevor Emery and Benjamin Castillo, many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Paulette Mentor of Santa Barbara and Brother-in-law Benny Benson and wife Jan Benson of Florida. Vic graduated from Roseville High School in 1952. The following year he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the Destroyer USS Mason. Preceding a 30-year career at Sacramento County in Traffic Operations, he worked at Teichert Construction and in the Aerospace Industries at Aerojet, RCA, and Douglas. Vic attended St. Rose Catholic Church. A family man, he was proud of his children and grandsons and lent his helping hands, muscle, and intellect when needed. He enjoyed working with a neighbor friend in restoring a classic type car; his last completed project was a 6-month book collaboration with Sandy on a biography currently at the printers about his parents, Cayetano and Guadalupe Castillo. Politically astute, he stayed informed about national news at home and abroad; he enjoyed listening to jazz, swing, the CalBears Band and Sinatra! In past times, he liked the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Lovin' Spoonful with Sandy and Dinah Washington's 'What a Difference a Day Makes.' Vic enjoyed his retirement years since 2001, visiting with daughter Tana in Grass Valley, attending both grandsons' varied sporting events, his political debates with friends and family, and attending Roseville High School Class Reunions with a multitude of classmates. His family and friends will deeply miss him. Visitation was Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cochrane & Wagemann, Funeral Directors, 103 Lincoln St., Roseville, Calif. 95678.
