Colonel Clyde Edward Riddle passed away on October 3, 2012 in Auburn, California, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born in Pemberton, West Virginia to Naomi and Clyde Riddle. Colonel Riddle received his MS in Human Resources Management, his BS in Criminology, he also went to Officers Squadron School and Air War College. He served 33 years in the United States Air Force. The Colonel enlisted during the Vietnam era & serviced our country through the Gulf War era.
Colonel Clyde Edward Riddle married Mary L. Riddle on March 7, 1992.
Colonel Riddle distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States in various assignments culminating as commander. Colonel Riddle stabilized the completion of major and minor phase inspections that resulted in saving the government millions of dollars. This phase reduction was the greatest impact on the U2 mission in 40 years. He received; the Meritorious Service Medal, the Legion of Merit Medal and the Oakleaf Medal. His leadership in support of 26 test accelerations /quick reaction tests in the after math of the terrorist attacks yielded timely and critical combat system improvements in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Colonel Riddle was a member of; the Officer's Club, the Disabled American Veterans and of the Alzheimer's Association. He enjoyed fishing, raising animals, playing racquet ball and riding horses.
Our Colonel will be dearly missed and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, son-in-law and friend!
Colonel Riddle is survived by his wife Mary Lisa Mullane Riddle, children; Brandi, Robert, Matthew and Edward (Eddie), grandchildren; Zoey, North and Alexis, brothers; Rodney, Gene and Jamie, mother Naomi Gibson and step-father Bill Gibson, mother and father-in-law; Patrick and Evelyn Mullane.
The family would like to thank VA Martinez caregivers and Sieanna Kindred Facility for their loving care to our Colonel.

A Celebration of his Life will be held from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 100 East St., Auburn, CA, 95603.
