Born May 25, 1939 in Independence, Iowa, Harold passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Lin Metcalf; their daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and David Kasperik; grandchildren, Eden Noelle and Joshua Carter Kasperik; nephew and niece-in-law, Thomas and Gay Lynn Dally; niece and nephew-in-law, Kimber and David Peres; and many beloved grand nieces and nephews.
Harold graduated from Placer High School, and Sacramento State University. He enjoyed a 40 plus year career in teaching at public schools throughout the Auburn and Yuba City areas. Harold ended his teaching career at Forest Lake Christian School. His love of math and physical education, focusing on Junior High students, was a driving force throughout his career. Harold enjoyed training and showing Welsh Ponies, as well as training his Doberman Pinscher dogs for competitive obedience trials. He was a life-long member of The First Baptist Church of Auburn.
There will be a celebration of Harold's life at The First Baptist Church of Auburn, 139 E. Placer Street in Auburn, CA this Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Harold's memory to the church. We rejoice in the fact that Harold is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven.
