Lisa Lynn Miller, age 49, died August 1, 2013 at Sutter Hospital surrounded by her family after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Lisa was born June 14, 1964 in San Jose, California to Winston and Rosemary Bannister. She attended both grade school and high school in the Bay Area. On February 15, 1985 she married the love of her life Tommy Reese Miller.
Lisa worked at Glen Edwards Middle School for 13 years where she was an Educational Teacher. She was well known by students and staff alike and loved buy all.
Lisa loved to spend her spare time going to garage sales; she loved her thrift stores as well as looking for antiques. Lisa's favorite think in life was to spend time at the ranch with her family, friends and of course her animals.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 28 years, Tommy Miller; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Brittney Miller; younger son, Mitchell Miller; her two darling grandchildren, Braxton and Waylon both of which she adored; parents, Rosemary and Winston Bannister; godparents, "Minga" and "Ping"; brother, John Banister; sister, De De Morgan; multiple nephews, nieces and cousins and numerous friends.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 18, 2013, 12 p.m. at the McBean Park Pavillions 65 McBean park drive Lincoln Calif.
A Lisa Miller help fund is set up at Umpqua bank as the "Lisa Help Fund".
A special thanks to all of the nurses at Sutter Hospital, the nurses in the E.R. as well as the staff of the infusion center and the Radiation department. A very special thank you to Dr. Kristie Boblis for taking such good care of my wife.
