Richard was born on July 3, 1935 in Sacramento, Calif. He passed away in his home on October 30, 2013 surrounded by his beloved wife, sons, and grandchildren.
Richard was an active member of his community serving as a Scout Master, School Board Member, and Volunteer Fireman. He most recently served as an Elder at Sierra First Baptist Church in Alta, Calif., for the past 20 years. Richard worked for 34 years as a lineman for PG&E. He was a hot rod enthusiast, skilled electrician, loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
He's survived by his constant companion and beloved wife of 52 years, Georgia Harmon; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Vettling; brother, Chuck Harmon; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Eric and Tammy Harmon, Joel and Jenny Harmon; as well as his nine grandchildren: Kristine and Jarrett Farewell, Joseph, Taylor, Heidi, Abbey, Emily, Grace, and Jonathan Harmon; and his great-grandson, Malachi Farewell.
Anyone who knew Richard knew his primary passion in life was his relationship with Jesus Christ and his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Please join us to celebrate a life well-lived and Richard's joyous heavenly homecoming on Tuesday November 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Bell Road Baptist Church in Auburn, Calif.
