Ruth Ellen was born in Oakland, California on January 21, 1925 to Callie Emma Trueblood and Dr. Leo C. Trueblood. She moved to Nevada County in 1934, on property belonging to her grandparents, with mother, brother and sister. There, she attended a one room school house called Lone Star. She attended Placer High School. Ruth married Walter Julius Woock, Jr. in 1941. Their marriage produced a daughter, Sandra Joan, and a son, Richard R.
Ruth was employed as Cafeteria Manager of the elementary schools in Auburn, and was along with her husband, part owners of a family business, Platasket Mfg. Co. in Lodi, California. Ruth enjoyed painting, gardening and was an avid "rock hound" and along with her husband were instrumental in founding the Mother Lode Mineralites. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their house trailer for many years. They loved the outdoors and camped at every opportunity with their children and friends. They both were people of great integrity and taught their children to be likewise.
Ruth leaves behind, daughter, Sandra Joan Weller of Idaho; son, Richard R. Woock of Granite Bay; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Elberta Jean Cain of Auburn. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Julius Woock; and brother, William Lewis Trueblood.
Our family wishes to thank Theresa King and family, Brittany niece and family, and Josie Logan for their long term loving care and support during our mother's extended illnesses. We thank God for all of you.
