Susan Jenson Lusk
7/12/1941 - 10/6/2012

Susan "Suzy" Lusk, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, surrounded by her family and friends at her home in Incline Village, Nev., after watching the sunrise over her beloved Lake Tahoe.
Born in San Francisco on July 12, 1941, Suzy graduated from San Juan High School. She took great pride in her work at Sierra College in Rocklin, CA, from where she retired after 24 years. In 1984, a few years after losing her husband of 21 years, Peter "Pinky" Jenson, to cancer, Suzy married the new love of her life, John Lusk. They moved from Newcastle, CA to Incline Village in 2000.
Suzy's passions were world travel, writing, wildlife viewing, crafting, social gatherings, and mostly, spending quality time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross and Reach to Recovery, counseling those newly diagnosed with cancer.
Known by those who knew her well as the "Pink Warrior", Suzy fought a 23 year battle with cancer. Through these many years of treatment and struggle, she never let cancer define her. With her relentless positive attitude, she lived each day to the fullest with a bright smile and boundless cheerful personality.
Suzy always considered herself to be "the luckiest person in the world"; surrounded by the best of friends and the most loving family. She added such "sparkle" to and was adored by anyone who entered her life. Lovingly referred to as a sweet angel, a ray of sunshine, life of the party, Suzy was one of a kind.
Suzy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Johno; daughters, Pam ( John) Erickson, Wendy (Ron) Johnson, Michelle (Jim) Lusk, and Alessandra (Marc) Lapadula; sons, Bryan Lusk and John (Brenda) Lusk, Jr.; grandchildren, Trevor, Cameron, Kayla, RJ, Jillian, Jack, Maddy , Ben, Justin and Andrew; and great-grandchildren, Weston and Clayton. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Sunshine.
Celebrations of Suzy's life will be held in Lake Tahoe and the Roseville area at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of "Suzy Lusk" to: Tahoe Forest Hospice: PO Box 759, Truckee, CA 96160.
We will miss Suzy deeply.
