Richard "Richie" Brian McPherson passed away at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz., on September 23, 2010. He was 51.
He leaves behind his mom, Jan McPherson of Auburn, Calif.; sister Valerie (David) Minor of Washington; nieces Veronica (Chris) Moody, Alexanna Minor and great-niece Edan Moody, all of Washington and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow immediately at the Chapel.
"I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend, he referred to the dates on his tombstone from the beginning to the end; he noted that first came the date of his birth and spoke the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years."

I'm completely heart broken for Jan and Valerie. Rich was my first true love, took me to my senior prom in my beautiful purple dress. I still have my 19th birthday present from him. When we broke up, I negoiated visitation time to the family and Bear, the dog. Rich will always have a place in my heart. May he be at peace and the family have comfort knowing he was loved by many, for a very long time.
