Dorothy Grider
12/6/1916 – 5/16/2013

On May 16, Dorothy Grider, a beloved and beautiful wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was welcomed as an angel into Heaven by her husband of 44 years, Hugh.  Born December 6, 1916 Dorothy Sophie Lenn Grider is survived by her "three boys", Ron, Dennis, Rick and their wives, Jeannie, Ronnaye and Susan.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wendy, Chelsa, Michael and wife Angie, Lisa, Hilary, Stephen, Juliet, her great grandchild, Alex and her nieces and nephews, Leo, Louise, Eddie Joe, Rose, JoAnn and Donald. Dorothy's remarkable life included being a care giver to her parents, brothers and sisters and experiencing the transformation from an age of wagons to seeing men walk on the moon, horse and buggy to riding in an electric car, from communicating over 'the backyard fence' to wearable social media. Her incredible patience, love, kind nature, inner strength and always present smile bear witness that she was, in every sense of the word, an amazing person. Not to be overlooked was her absolute mastery over anyone who dared to challenge her in a game of Gin Rummy, and this well into her nineties! Future generations will know that she, like her husband Hugh, is looking down from Heaven with a smile and watching over all of us. A private family service will be held. Rest in peace, Mom, knowing that you are loved by all.
