Elaine Lardner Boundy, 86, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013. Born July 5, 1927, Elaine was a life-long resident of Placer County, Calif. She grew up in the Citrus Colony area of Penryn and, after marrying, moved to the Loomis area, remaining there for the next 60 years. A graduate of Placer Union High School (Auburn) and the College of the Pacific (Stockton), she was a dedicated teacher for 33 years, instructing students at the Lincoln, Placer, and Loomis elementary schools, grades K-6. After retiring, she worked for many years at the Sutter Street Emporium in Folsom's historic district. She loved to travel with her family, eventually visiting all 50 U.S. states and 30 countries worldwide. When not planning their next trip, she enjoyed reading, researching her family's genealogy, puzzles, and adding to her several collections.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard Boundy, daughter Patricia Boundy, sister Edna (Lardner) Herrier, niece Roycelyn (Herrier) Griffin, and nephew Neil Herrier.
Private services were held Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Newcastle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the .
