Jack Harold Sturgill
3/4/1925 - 12/11/2013

Jack Harold Sturgill, recently of Walla Walla, Washington and a long term resident of Meadow Vista, California, passed away in Walla Walla, Washington on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the age of 88. Jack was born on March 4, 1925, in Warminster Township, Buck's County, Pennsylvania.
Jack and his pre-deceased wife, Jacquelyn met in Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania and were married in Bel Air, Maryland. They remained married for 49 years prior to Jackie's death in 1997. Jack is survived by he and Jackie's four children, Donna, Gordon, Karen, and Carol; their spouses, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as his three sisters, Margaret (Peggy), Louise, and Mildred; numerous nieces, nephews, and their descendants.
Jack later married Ramona and moved to Fort Jones, California and from there to Walla Walla, Washington. Jack is also survived by his wife, Ramona, his step-daughters, Gloria, Pat, Cheryl and Linda and five grandchildren. He was truly loved and respected by all.
Jack is a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army as a medic in Trinidad during the last year of the war. After his move to Meadow Vista in 1954, he worked for many years at Hughes Brothers Lumber Mill in Foresthill.
Jack was a man of God who lived his faith rather than talking about it. For him it was a blessing to represent God by helping others and many people received the benefit of his untiring desire to help others with the humility, kindness and love of God. He dedicated his life to God, to his beloved wife Jackie, who pre-deceased him, to Ramona, his wife at the time of his death, to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, friends, neighbors, and to his church. It was his goal to be there when others needed help or comfort.
Jack, you will be sorely missed and you will be remembered forever.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life and memory of Jack Sturgill at the Meadow Vista Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1461 Meadow Vista Road, Meadow Vista, Calif., on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Jack would want you to contribute to Gospel Outreach, PO Box 8, College Place, WA 99324.
