Jane was born June 4, 1929, in Berkeley, California. She graduated from Berkeley High School and attended both Stanford University and University of California at Berkeley majoring in Art History and serving on the Rally Committees at both universities.
The love of her life was her family; her four children, Richard (Carol) Rinehart of Taos, New Mexico, Ron (Michelle) Rinehart of Folsom, California, Robin Rinehart of Citrus Heights, California and Reed (Ginette) Rinehart of Ukiah, California; her grandchildren: Amy, Justin (Julie), Nick (Amanda), Katie, Ethan and Ava; her great-grandchildren: Joseph, Jack, Lyla, Brady and Jacob.
She was a fine artist focusing on both oil painting and watercolor and held a special place in her heart for the Mendocino Art Center and community on the Mendocino coast. She was active in community activities especially with The Children's Home Society of California, Campfire Girls, Cub Scouts and the Ukiah Dolphins Swim Club while raising her family in Ukiah, California. In Folsom, she was Vice-President of the Pinebrook Village Social Club and was a Stephens minister through her church.
For many years she participated in Bridge tournaments throughout the United States. She loved to travel and share memories of her trips with friends and family. She was also co-founder of Rinehart Oil, Inc. in Ukiah in 1959, with her husband Robert Rinehart. She will be remembered for her love of life, her spirit, and deep faith, her positive attitude in all things and her welcome and gracious acceptance of all who were blessed to know her. She taught her children the love of family and the importance of giving back and serving in the community.
