Mary Ann Harris

Mary Ann passed away peacefully on August 26 surrounded by her family. She will always be remembered for her vibrancy and unceasingly optimistic outlook on life. She was born and raised in Sacramento, and spent every summer with family and friends in the Sierra Nevada mountains. On June 28, 1959, she married the love of her life, Gordon Harris, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sacra- mento. Together, Gordon and Mary Ann built and ran a thriving dental practice in Roseville. Over the next eight years their children Mark, Karen and Craig joined the family. She loved skiing, hiking and adventure travel around the globe with Gordon. Mary Ann's family and friends were the joy of her life. She considered them her blessings and her inspirations.
Her generosity and compassion were shown through her support of the Sacramento District Dental Society Foundation, an annual scholarship program at Del Oro High School, Child Advocates of Placer County, the Boy Scouts of America and many other charities. Her strong sense of family and community service involved her in numerous volunteer roles through which she inspired, and encouraged, many others into giving back.
Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother full of joy, wisdom, and great humor. She is survived by her children Mark, Karen and Craig, her daughter-in-law Annabelle, grandson Alex and his wife Tamara, grandson Adam, her brother-in-law Allen and sister-in-law Christie and many nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church located at 1701 L Street in Sacramento. Parking is available in the church garage, the entrance is on K St
