Steven Spotts Obituary

Steven Spotts
8/8/1959 - 12/2/2010

Steven Spotts, a well-known gem to the community, passed away in his home Thursday, December 2, at 51 years-old.
Steven was born August 8, 1959 in Landstuhl, Germany to Carl Spotts and the late Connie Barnes. He came to Grass Valley in the late 60's and was known as the good-looking "bad boy," often found working at his dad's Harley Davidson shop on Bell Road.
Steven later served in the military and grew to be an admirable man with a heart of gold. He was incredibly bright with a great love for animals, but most importantly a great love for his family.
Steven is survived by his loving wife Kathy Hamilton and daughters Alyson Hamilton and Toni Spotts. His love for Kathy was one-of-a-kind. He often professed his love for her in love-letters, from the beginning of their courtship to the very end. The two dated in high school and later reunited to become undividable. The soul-mates wed in 1996 and recently renewed their vows November 4, 2010 in Hawaii, a trip he always wanted to take.
Steven was a handy-man and an incredible artist; often showcasing his talents in unconventional ways, like doing daughter Alyson's homework. His little girl would proudly show up to elementary school with professionally made projects – proving both his talent and undeniable sweet spot for his girls.
Steven will be most remembered for his uncontestable kindness and always-present smile. When asked how he was doing, he always replied, "just peachy", until the morning he ended his year-long battle with Colon Cancer.
Steven will be dearly missed by his father Carl, sisters Pam Spotts and Cindy Pratt and his devoted wife and daughters.
There will be a celebration of life held Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Boozefighters Clubhouse, 10072 Streeter Rd., Ste. A, in Auburn.
Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.

I´m sitting here listening to an April Wine song. Thought of the buddy that introduced me to them...Steve. I had the pleasure of getting to serve in the U.S. Army with Steve in ( at the time) W. Germany. Good man!! Got to hear many stories of bikes with his dad Carl. Got to know Kathy and the kids as well. RIP Sport !

Hello Kathy & Allison; I just wanted to make sure that Steven has this candle with him, so that he won't get scared. I know he will be thankful for this. We love you Steven and miss you so very much. I remember all the laughing we did together and also running to my moms to protect her. I will always thank you for that. Love you always, Chris

My thoughts are always with you, Kathy, Alyson, and all of Steves' family and friends. I will always remember Steve as one who could fix or repair almost anything (Jack of all trades). I am Happy he is in no more pain at all. He is with GOD and others in HEAVEN. I am just jealous he made it their before me! Oh well, it will not be too long before we can join him. He will be missed untill then.

To my dearest friends Kathy and Alyson,

With heartfelt sorrow Steven will be dearly missed. He was one of the most humble and gracious guys I had ever known.
Steve was even-keeled but yet persistent and didn't give up easily. I remember back in high school, how Steve was in hot pursuit of Kathy. She adored him and he doted over her. Steve always tolerated every thing Kathy dished out and loved her all the more. We all had some crazy times together without a worry in the world....
May Steven rest in eternal peace and his memories live on forever.

I hold thoughts of you both in my heart and prayers. God speed his love.
Love Always, Tonya

You know my best memories are when the three of us used to clean up yards and then take it to my moms to have a huge bon fire. The three of us were always together, we all did lots of different things with Ally. Holidays especially Christmas, we would start the day after Thanksgiving and work all day and half the night, but it was so well worth it. Kathy, Steven, and I would do nothing but laugh and have a great time. I will always remember the day they were married. I was Kathys maid of honor and she pushed my mom down the isle in her wheelchair, but she gave her away and it was breath taking. I love you Steven, Kathy, and Ally and Steven will always be in my heart forever. Love you always, Jimbo & Chris

It always amazed me how calm cool and collected Steve was no matter what the situation. Always willing to help a friend , fix a car or just follow Kathy's orders with a smile. He was a dedicated husband and good friend to have. We will miss him so much. With respect Cisca Suverkropp and Donna Collins.

I remember how cool Steve was all decked-out in his leathers, riding his Harley Sportster to Placer back in the day. I last spoke with him a couple of years ago & was gratified by how happy he was with life. My deepest condolences to Kathy & his children.
Rest Easy Steve.
