Aubrey Dow Martin, age 93, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at The Palms in Roseville where he had been a resident for the past year and a half.
He was a long-time resident on a ranch in Newcastle. He was born on November 26, 1918 in Aplin, Aak., to the late Daniel B. and Mary Josephine (Porter) Martin. Aubrey was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. On November 10, 1944, he married Mildred Klinger.
Aubrey worked as an engineer on the California aqueduct, in road construction, and on the Folsom Dam Project. He enjoyed gardening, dairy goats, horses and gemstones.
Aubrey is survived by his wife, Mildred; their four children, Peggy (Joe) Mueller in Wisconsin, Tom (Judy) Martin in Utah, Eula (Craig) Yancey in Wyoming, and Robert Martin; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. His parents, a grandson and a great-grandson preceded him in death.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service is pending.
