Edward J. Gardetto
1925 - 2013

Edward J. Gardetto, age 87, died peacefully on April 8, 2013 in Roseville, Calif.
Edward Gardetto (James Edward Gardetto) was born to James C.and Annunciata Gardetto on August 21, 1925. He was a lifetime resident of Roseville, growing up in the unique railroad community of Old Town Roseville. He graduated from Roseville High School in 1943 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy. After the war ended, he attended Placer College on the GI bill, receiving an AA degree in English in 1948. He began to work for the Roseville Telephone Company in it's infancy retiring after 38 years as a construction line foreman. He married the love of his life, Audrey, in 1960 and they celebrated 53 years of marriage together. He was a huge sports fan supporting his 49ers and Giants. Ed enjoyed gathering together with friends and family to share love and laughter with a beer in his hand and a big smile on his face.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ernestine Lippi and is survived by his wife, Audrey; his brother, Donald Gardetto; children, Tom Wood, Bill Wood and Cindy Pomares; and many loving family members.
Please join us for a Memorial Mass on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetary, 7101 Verner Ave, Sacramento. Reception to follow.
