ROGER D. GREENLEE, 85 LOVES PARK - Roger D. Greenlee, 85, of Loves Park, entered into eternal rest in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, May 31, 2014. Born Dec. 9, 1928, in Rockford, the son of R. Lewis and Abbie (Ralston) Greenlee. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1946. Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. Married Betty (Niffenegger) Carter on Dec. 5, 1987, in Loves Park. Roger's life was farming. Member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and trustee. He belonged to the Northwestern Gun Club and served on the board with the Winnebago County Farm Bureau. Roger and Betty enjoyed traveling together. Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Allen (Bonnie) Carter of Florida; daughters, Linda (Daniel) Fleming of Machesney Park and Cindy (Jim) Nelson of Loves Park; daughter-in-law, Rita Carter of Loves Park; grandchildren, Rachel (Doug) Brumm, Nicholas (Cassie) Carter, Samantha Carter, Kyler Fleming, Jacob Fleming, Abbie Nelson and Mandy Nelson; great-grandchildren, Addie, Nixie, Liam and Allison; brother, Wayne Greenlee; nephews, Dennis (Cassie), Gary (Jane) and Dale (Linda) Greenlee; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by son, Andrew Carter; and sister-in-law, Vivian Greenlee. The family wishes to thank British and all his special caregivers for their love and support and also N. Illinois Hospice. Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, in Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, 7300 Argyle Road, Caledonia, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Scottish Argyle Cemetery.
