Adams, Donald - Caledonia  
DONALD E. ADAMS, 71 CALEDONIA - Donald E. Adams, 71, of Caledonia, IL passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, after a short illness. Donald was born September 26, 1943, in Beloit, Wisconsin; the son of George W. and Pauline (Dolphin) Adams. He married Joan Marie Austin on October 3, 1964, in Poplar Grove, IL; she preceded him in death on January 25, 2007. Over the years, Donald worked for Barber-Colman for 23 years where he was a foreman; he then worked an additional 19 years for Dean Foods before his retirement. Donald was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Germany during the Viet-Nam era. He was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, Capron Grange and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Harvard. Donald was an avid collector of hats, guns and collecting photos of his friends. He enjoyed trap shooting and target shooting, farming, camping and fishing with his daughter and granddaughters. Donald enjoyed tinkering in the basement as well as collecting John Wayne memorabilia. He was also a member of the Monroe Prairie ATV Club and enjoyed riding ATV's. Donald is loved and will be missed by his children, Daniel (Sandra) Adams of Caledonia, Paulette (fiancé, Brian Polin) Mendoza of Belvidere; grandchildren, Monica and Alexis Mendoza, Matthew, Tyler, Ashley and Jasmine Polin; brother, Floyd (Mary) Adams of Murfreesboro, TN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; significant other, Julie Kleive of Capron. Donald is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, 105 E. Grove St., Poplar Grove, IL, with Rev. Christopher Druce Jones officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Cremation to follow the services. FRANCES M. ANDREONI, 91 ROCKFORD - Frances M. Andreoni, 91, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Born to George and Josephine Reola on January 15, 1923. Married Raymond Andreoni on February 6, 1944. Lived her entire life in Rockford. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Employed at Rockford Brass and Eclipse for over 20 years. Famous for speaking her mind, chasing fire trucks and racing around town visiting her friends. Frannie loved to cook, bake cookies and cannolis, and play cards with her many friends that are now gone. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten by daughter, Carol Cox; son, Jim Andreoni; granddaughter, Megan (Jimmi) Palicki; great- grandsons, Oliver and Ray; sister, Rosalie Sparacino; sister-in-law, Lydia Reola; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband, Ray; sister, Mary Johnson; and brother, Joe Reola. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, in St. Anthony Church, with Franciscan Friars officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 9 a.m. Saturday until service time in the church. PETE WALTER ABELS, 60 BOULDER CITY, NV - Pete Walter Abels, 60, passed away October 20, 2014. He was born November 23, 1953, in Freeport, IL to Joseph Abels and Cleo (Abels) Perkins. Pete married Jackie Stickels August 23, 1980. They moved to Boulder City, NV 13 years ago from Winnebago, IL. Pete was an avid golfer, loved time spent on Lake Mead, enjoyed riding his motorcycle (Spock) and was always up for a good game of Pinochle at The Barn. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughter, Monica Abels (Darwood); son, Luke Abels; granddaughter, Savannah Abels (Boo-Boo); sister, Sharon Abels; and numerous nieces and nephews. An open house to celebrate Pete's life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the Verdi Club, Rockford, IL. Bring a story - light a candle!
