Tomamichel, Esther - Belvidere  
ESTHER J.P. TOMAMICHEL ROCKFORD - Esther J.P. Tomamichel of Wesley Willows, Rockford went to her rest January 25, 2015. She was born in Argyle, Illinois on Nov. 18, 1913, the daughter of Emil Peterson and Alma C. Hacker. Married in Kahalia, Missouri, May 3, 1941 to the late Rollan R. Tomamichel. Esther was a resident of Belvidere for 60 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ada Stearns Fellowship, former Sunday School Teacher and superintendent of the Primary Dept. of First Baptist Church. Esther was President of Sorosis Society in 1970 to 1973 and again in 1994 to 1997. She was a member of Belvidere Women's Club, worked at the Belvidere Community Concert Association and chairwoman of Mobil Meals for First Baptist Church, also a member of Boone County Council of arts and Mendelssohn. Esther loved traveling with her husband and visited all 50 states and capitols. Also traveling to Canada and several countries in Europe and Israel. She loved playing cards of all kinds, especially Bridge. Preceding her in death is her husband; parents; and two brothers, Albert and Elmer Peterson; two sisters, Lucille Peterson Magnusson and Anna Peterson Zellgert. Esther is survived by daughter, Kay A. Tomamichel and son-in-law Michael Tomamichel of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother, Delbert (Lois) Peterson. She also had several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, Illinois 61008, with the Rev. Rex Rogers officiating. Townsend, William  
WILLIAM J. 'BILL' TOWNSEND, 70 MONROE CENTER - William J. "Bill" Townsend, 70, of Monroe Center, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, in his home, with family at his side. He was born November 8, 1944, in Rockford, the son of Robert and Helen Townsend. Married his loving wife, Betty Lilja, on May 6th, 1967, in Rockford, IL. Bill worked for 30 years at Chrysler as a material handler. He was the family's Mr. Fix It who worked on cars and enjoyed wood working. Bill was a true friend to many and cherished the time he spent with his family. Survivors include his wife, Betty; children, Michelle (Jim) Forth, Wendy (Mike) Wold, Tara (Stephen) Behling; sister, Sharon (Larry) Terrell; brother, Bob (Sandy) Townsend; grandchildren, Jareth, Jonathan, Kaylin, Ashley, Maddisen, Andrea, Heather, and Aiden; 8 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Helen Townsend and sister, Pat Kosin. Memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. MARY ALICE TURNER, 78 BELVIDERE - Mary Alice Turner, 78, passed away at 11:37 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2015, in Presence Cor Mariae Center. She was born May 1, 1936, in Belvidere, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Burton) Schrader. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1954. Mary Alice married Gilbert B. Turner in Garden Prairie on Sept. 16, 1955. He predeceased her January 15, 2013. She was a lifelong member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Belvidere. She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Steven) Johnson of Machesney Park; a grandson, Ryan (Emily) Johnson of New Lenox, IL; a great-grandson, Rhett Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her infant children, a son, Bruce, and a daughter, Donna; her parents; brothers, Russell and Kenneth Schrader; and a sister, Roberta Love. FLORENCE LORETTA (PARIS) TARQUINI, 91 ROCKFORD - Florence Loretta (Paris) Tarquini, 91, a lifelong resident of Rockford, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 in her home with family at her side. She was born on May 8, 1923 the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Paris. Married her loving husband Dominic Tarquini on April 27, 1946 and was married for 66 years until his death in 2012. Worked for National Lock, Rockford Stevens and owned Twin Oaks Restaurant and Da-Mar Tap. Florence was a member of the National Catholic Order of Foresters, enjoyed golfing with Dominic and loved wintering in Florida. Survivors include daughters, Linda Novak, Louise (Craig) Skolrood; grandchildren, Kim (Scott) Pearson, Ryan (Natasha) Novak, Michael (Colleen) Skolrood, Gregory (Dipal) Skolrood, Michele (Gordon) Wong, Great Grandchildren, Dominick and Matthew Pearson, Marchella Novak, Grant, Ella and Maddie Skolrood; sisters, Marie Sherman and Jean (Don) Restauri; sister-in-law, Hilda Bondick and best buddy, Vinny and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dominic; sister, Ida Calkins and brother-in-law, Sam Sherman. Florence's family was the main focus of her life. She was happiest when they would all gather at her home and share her delicious food. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great joy. Carrying on holiday traditions was important to her and she passed all along to her daughters and their families. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to VNA Hospice for all of their kindness and support. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Interment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary service to be recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Rita's from 9:30 a.m. until time of prayer at 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
