AMY C. MARKGRAF, 41 MACHESNEY PARK - Amy C. Markgraf, 41, of Machesney Park, died at 11:57 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born July 20, 1972, in Rockford; the daughter of Lyn and Judy (Williams) Pond. Graduate of Auburn High School, Illinois State University, and Mennonite College of Nursing. She married Brian Markgraf Oct. 4, 1996, in First Evangelical Free Church, Rockford. Amy was a school nurse for Lincoln Elementary School in Belvidere. Member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Brian; sons, Jake and Ian; parents, Lyn (Joyce) Pond and Judy (Ron) Meyer; sister, Sherry (Tim) Gaumond; step-sisters, Tracy Gresty and Teri (Chip) Oyen; step-brothers, Nick (Janine) Meyer and Darren (Amy) Meyer; grandmother, Helen Williams; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special thanks to Dr. Harvey Einhorn and his staff, and to Heartland Hospice. Memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, in Christ Lutheran Church, 425 Riverside, Belvidere, with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating.
