BOBBY WAYLAND BURNS, 61 MEDFORD, Ore. - Bobby passed away Nov. 16 2013 at 4;42 a.m. with his loving wife of 36 years, Susan (nee Sparacino) holding him in her arms in his chair. Born Oct. 22 1952 in Clarendon, AK to Billie Jean Shores and Wayland Burns. Bobby graduated from Auburn High School in Rockford and attended Liberty Christian College in Minnesota, Rock Valley College and Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. He married the love of his life Susan Sparacino on Sept. 10 1977 at St. Anthony Church in Rockford. He worked as an engineer at St. Anthony Hospital before moving his family to Las Vegas in 1989 where he worked in real estate and was a manager at Palm Mortuary before retiring in 2006. He loved riding his motorcycle with Susie, watching movies, playing cribbage or backgammon but most of all spending time with his family. Bob and Sue moved to Medford, Oregon in 2012 to be close to their daughters, Tiffany (Alec) Dickinson and Julianne (Chris) Keller and their beloved grandchildren, Harper John and Aven Rosalie Dickinson and baby Christopher Keller. Bob had a liver transplant in 1998 at UCLA
due to a genetic disorder and then fought a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis, never complaining once, which took his life. Bobby is survived by his wife and best friend, Susie; his daughters; son-in-laws; and grandchildren; his parents; his brother, Terry (Carol) Burns of Rockford; mother-in-law, Rosalie Sparacino, Roscoe, IL; brother-in-law, George (Serena) Sparacino, Parkland, FL; sisters-in-laws, Marcella Sparacino, Tampa, FL Nancy (Tom) Williams, Lancaster, CA, Lisa (Hal) Wilson, Roscoe, IL; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. Services provided by Perl Funeral Home. Mass was held on Saturday Nov. 23 2013 at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Medford, Oregon. Internment at Perl Cemetary.
